Healthcare writer Tim Mullaney attended my session at the 2015 Aging in America Conference, part of which is included in a recent article he penned for Senior Housing News. Mr. Mullaney’s article focuses on three methods discussed to improve communication in an effort improve retention including honesty in addressing rumors, and communication that is inclusive and consistent.
The session, entitled “Staff Recruitment and Retention in Assisted Living and Long-Term Care,” also included how the estimated turnover-related costs at one 230+ CCRC totaled $1.3 million per year, and how facilities can solve this wide-spread problem.
