Culture Change: Leaders Must be Visible

Since we have been discussing person-centered care and culture change here on our blog, I thought I would share a past column I authored as the Staffing Expert for Long-Term Care Living Magazine.

I will state again and again: leadership is the key to any culture change. Leaders at all levels of an organization need to be available, approachable and visible. Working side by side with staff offers the leader an opportunity to demonstrate their desire to be engaged and work with staff. Actions speak volumes about what leaders think about their job and their employees.
