Amid federal budget concerns and continuous struggles for research dollars, it is encouraging that President Obama is supporting a $100 million brain mapping project, “Obama calls for brain mapping project.”
While Alzheimer’s disease is just one area that may benefit from this 10 year project, any progress made that will advance our understanding of the brain and yield possible treatments for Alzheimer’s and other neurological diseases and injuries is a step in the right direction.
